What is Homeopathy? - How can it help?
Homeopathic medicines are made from plants, minerals and animal extracts. There are thousands of different homeopathic medicines, and each has its own, unique therapeutic application.

Homeopathic medicines are made in a special way which involves the serial dilution and succussion (shaking with impact) of the source material. This process is called ‘potentisation’, and according to homeopathic tradition, potentisation energises the substance and enhances its healing potential. It is the stimulus given to the body by the energised medicine, which helps healing to take place.

Homeopathic medicines are usually given as small pillules which readily dissolve on the tongue, making them ideal for children as well as adults.

What Conditions Can it Help?
Homeopathy treats the unique individual, not the diagnosed condition. Patients may come and say that they are suffering from conditions such as chronic fatigue syndrome, muscular aches, skin complaints, irritable bowel syndrome or SAD etc, but the homeopath focuses on the patient as one unique entity. To the homeopath, the important factor is how a patient expresses their own, personal dis-ease.

What happens when you visit a Homeopath?
The first consultation usually takes between one to one and a half hours. This allows the homeopath the time to take a detailed account of your medical and personal history, and learn how you normally respond to emotional and physical challenges. All aspects of your life are relevant to your homeopath, and any information which you provide will be regarded as confidential.
Follow up appointments are important because your prescription may need to be adjusted as your symptoms start to change.
